Bring a Burst of Citrus to Your Next BBQ: Lemoncello Tiramisu

Summer BBQs are all about fresh, vibrant flavors, and what better way to impress your guests than with a delightful Limoncello Tiramisu? This refreshing twist on the classic Italian dessert features homemade lemon curd, adding a zesty punch that's perfect for warm-weather gatherings.

Ingredients:

  • For the Lemon Curd:

  • 3 large egg yolks

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • For the Tiramisu:

  • 1 cup lemoncello

  • 1 cup water

  • 24 ladyfingers

  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • Fresh lemon slices and mint leaves for garnish


Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Lemon Curd:

  • In a saucepan, whisk together egg yolks, sugar, lemon juice, and lemon zest.

  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.

  • Remove from heat and stir in butter until smooth. Let it cool completely. Assemble the Tiramisu:

  • Mix limoncello and water in a shallow dish. Dip each ladyfinger into the mixture and layer them in a serving dish.

  • In a bowl, beat mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and fluffy.

  • Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, followed by a layer of lemon curd. Repeat with another layer of ladyfingers and mascarpone mixture.

  • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.


Serve:

  • Garnish with fresh lemon slices and mint leaves before serving.
