A Memorable Girls Weekend in London: Exploring, Shopping, and Unwinding

Sometimes, a weekend away with the girls is exactly what you need to recharge and create lasting memories. Recently, I embarked on my first official night away from my son and chose London as the perfect destination for a city break. With exciting plans, including watching Mamma Mia in the West End, I was eager to explore the vibrant streets, indulge in shopping, and enjoy some well-deserved relaxation. In this blog post, I'll share my experiences and recommendations for a fantastic girls' weekend in London.

Where to Stay in London for a Girly Weekend:

When planning a busy weekend of sightseeing, it's best to book a centrally located hotel. My friend Ellice and I chose to stay at Hilton Tower Bridge, which was generously gifted to us. Staying in central London made it easier to navigate and allowed us to plan our itinerary around the main attractions.

Things to Do in London at the Weekend:

London offers an abundance of activities and attractions, ensuring there's something for everyone. To make the most of our time, we decided to plan and prioritize the places we wanted to visit. Here are some ideas to get you started:

Shopping on Black Friday:

Visiting London during Black Friday turned out to be a great decision. We explored Bond Street and indulged in a shopping spree at Victoria's Secret, taking advantage of the discounts and festive atmosphere. If you're keen on shopping, Black Friday offers excellent deals, especially in American-branded stores.

Covent Garden:

For a diverse shopping experience, head to Covent Garden. This vibrant area is filled with clothing, jewelleryy, crafts, and antiques, offering something for every taste.

Embrace Tourist Attractions:

No visit to London is complete without embracing the iconic landmarks. Take a ride on the London Eye, walk across Tower Bridge, and admire Buckingham Palace. Don't forget to stroll past Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, and Trafalgar Square, immersing yourself in the city's history and charm.

Indulge in Afternoon Tea or Dinner with a View:

If you're looking for a special dining experience, consider visiting The Ting Lounge in The Shard. Enjoy afternoon tea or a light Asian-inspired dinner while taking in breathtaking views of central London. It's a great way to indulge and capture the essence of the city from above.

Experience the West End:

Fortheatrer enthusiasts, catching a show in the West End is a must. With an array of options to choose from, the West End showcases incredible talent and leaves you inspired. We thoroughly enjoyed watching Mamma Mia, a feel-good musical that had the whole crowd singing along and reminiscing about nights spent dancing away.

A girl's weekend in London offers the perfect blend of adventure, entertainment, and relaxation. From exploring iconic landmarks and indulging in shopping to experiencing the vibrant theatre scene, there's no shortage of activities to make your trip memorable. Whether you choose to be a tourist, sip afternoon tea with a view, or immerse yourself in the West End, London has something to offer everyone. So gather your girlfriends, plan your itinerary, and get ready for an unforgettable weekend getaway in the heart of this dynamic city.
